Mixtape: The Forever 27 Club
There's a phrase used to describe legendary artists that passed away at the age of 27. They're called "The Forever 27 Club". The original 27 Club was a group of influential rock musicians, exceptionally talented and widely successful, in the 1970s and 1980s. The statistical anomaly of some of our greatest musicians dying at the age of 27 has created mystery and intrigue in pop culture. One thing is for sure: this incredible group of young people changed the world.
This [mixtape] is a twist on the concept. It features tracks by fallen and living music icons that made music at 27 years of age. Less than one month ago, I turned 27 and asked myself, "What is/will be my legacy? How can I change the world (for the better) using my god given talent and creativity?". This mixtape puts in perspective how amazing, creative, and life-changing each of us can be at any given age. 27 to be exact... Listen to it. Be Inspired.
Included: Caleb of Kings of Leon, Jay-Z's Reasonable Doubt, Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Curt Kobain's Nirvana, Black Thought's The Roots Band, Prince's Purple Rain, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Goapele, Jimi Hendrix, & More. Some of my favorite artists and their legendary work at 27 years of age.
